How to read garment care labels
A care label helps you decide whether an item can be washed at home or should be taken to a professional cleaner.
A care label is the manufacturer guidance for the material, temperature and permitted treatment. Check it before washing, drying, ironing or using a stain remover.
Start with the wash-tub symbol
The number inside the wash tub is the maximum washing temperature. A hand in the tub means hand wash. A crossed-out wash tub means home washing is not permitted.
When should you ask for advice?
If there is no care label, the material is very delicate, or the item has sequins, pearls, stones or glued details, bring it to us for an assessment before treatment. Items without care labels are cleaned only at the customer’s own risk.
